Here again is Billy Wilder lighting a cigar in a cubist-inspired photo collage and Andy Warhol in a deft little 1974 colored pencil drawing. Nor do any of the contributing curators and academics pretend that the book—which accompanies an exhibit of the same name at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston—is really breaking any fresh ground. But for those who haven't seen it all before, this is an attractive, well-organized introduction to the artist's endlessly inventive career. I hate algebra. This didn't help get me through my class. I found the examples haphazard and not necessarily relevant to the units and concepts under discussion and I found it hard to use and poorly organized. Happily, it wasn't expensive and the professor for the class I used it for was very accessible for help.

what is there to say. I had no choice but to buy it. I'm glad that you can buy textbooks used online with expedited shipping. I sure am saving a lot of money doing that! Usually they get here in a hurry. Most textbooks are available!
wonderful book, with great reproductions
Enjoyed and was inspired by this book. Hockney's work is both beautiful, touches the soul and ever changing and evolving. He's one of my favourite artists and being interested now in portrait painting in particular, I was thrilled by this book.

This book was exactly the correct issue for the class I was taking. However, the issue changes almost every semester so the buyback value went down to nearly nothing directly after I purchased it - good thing it was EXTREMELY cheap!
This book has a lot of great reproductions, it's a nice collection of Hockney's portraits from all different mediums. I would definitly recommend this book for the price and quality of images.
